In my opinion....

We've become a nation of the overly offended and overly sensitive. If it's not the name/mascot of a professional football team that no one had an issue with for years, then it's a statue that's was erected generations ago. With all that's going on in this country with drug addiction, gun violence, etc., things like this shouldn't be the issue they are because there are so many other more important issues we should be focused on.

You're right, except I've always been against the name of Washington's football team, as have most Native Americans I know.

Much of this effort to remove statues is in itself offensive, as you say. Societies do evolve or devolve, but for them to be suddenly offensive is questionable IMO. The "all of a sudden" approach points to a concession due to pressure or a change in statute that dictates it. If no law has mandated it that leaves concession as likely being the cause. If it were to expand it could lead to rewriting our written history, since both are an effort to take things out of view. Just my opinion.

SCPO (Join to see) - Thanks, It was almost 20 years ago at USMC Birthday Ball before I punched out. It was the only one I could find that portrayed what my service was mostly about with me: Family, Corps and Country. No regrets because they took good care of us all. Kids are grown and I have a 1.5 year old grandson by my daughter. My son is about 6, 2 and 280 now - strong as a bull. It's been a good ride. Best wishes, Will.
