How many military history text have a mention of one of the greatest clashes and probably one of the top 10 most important battles ever fought (though no one ever can agree on more than 5 of those anyway lol ) . The Battle of Ankara saw a rare event - when two great Captains at the peak of their power -- collided. All around great historical read -- and illustrations.

Me too. But an interesting read. Had the Mongols not pressed the Ottomans at that time, the history of Europe would have been very different.

LTC Peter Hartman - Why i place it on my top 10 list of most important battles. With the Hungarians defeated - and Byzantine Empire in decline - a drive on Central Europe could well have changed history in that Central Europe would probably have fallen.... or been left in ruins. Then just at that moment - comes the Horde out of Central Asia... and the huge set back for the Turks at Ankara.
