Respect his ability to box, but not the man. Muhammad Ali refuses to be inducted into the U.S. Army and is immediately stripped of his heavyweight title. Ali, a Muslim, cited religious reasons for his decision to forgo military service. WHAT THE F%&k!!!! My father was a religious man as well and did not want to be put in a position to kill another man whom he had never meet, but was this ability given to my father? HELL NO!!!! My father went and came back a completely different man....it cost him his family and life. While Clay stayed home in America his mansion under the freedom everyone else was dying for. He is a coward. He didn't even have the respect to go to Canada.

I guess it hits home with me because my father lost so much as did all of his family. I think of all the great men who had money and fame and still did their duty for this country. Roger Staubach comes to mind. I wrote him as a kid and thanked him for serving our country and he even wrote back to me. It was cool. Even Elvis Presley served...you know Clay would have never seen any action. He would have just did the tour like Elvis. Not saying he was Chuck Norris, but Hell...Bea Arthur from "Golden Girls" served in the Marines.

You are all wrong. And before you damage a mans name do a little research Muhammad went down to the draft board when he was asked to after his exam he was listed 4F. Not eligible to serve in the military. He information was listed under his birth name of Cassius Clay. When they realized who he was he was asked to come and retest he then tested A1. How do go from 4F to A1. He Ali could hardly read or write. He should have never been eligible in the first place
