Happy greetings friends, family and fellow supporters!
We surpassed our goal of $3,000 last night and raised a total of $3,632! Thank you each and everyone of you so much for your generous donations and shares! Theses will go along way to making Erica and I's dream come true of making a living while helping others find their path toward wholeness.
$3,632 can pay for our our clinic deposit plus three months rent! In addition, it can pay both our national, state, and local licensing / transcript fees so padding for first utility payments or business cards.
Thank you so much! If we raise just $368 today then we will be a 3rd of our way to our campaign goal in only three days! Which could be used to buy clinic supplies such as needles, paper, stationery etc.
In other news, I re-joined the People's Organization for Community Acupuncture (POCA). I had been a member while a student, but let my membership dues lapse in order to cut down costs. POCA is the organization which birthed the Berkeley Acupuncture Project, the clinic where I received my first acupuncture treatment in 2009. Although, Erica and I may not choose to ourselves open a community clinic, I still support their outreach driven mission of spreading acupuncture sustainably to as many people as possible.
As far as our own business model, we are still exploring different options. Currently the middle way option as pioneered by Matthew Baurer has our interest.

It is a go for the middle approach which accepts insurance (something most POCO and community clinics do not), and set an affordable rate for those in the middle income category. We are looking into various other strategies and will keep you post as we develop our practice.
