I don't think that a "casting couch" was involved. Rather, I suspect that Clint is just one of the few Hollywood celebrities with good old fashioned American horse sense...

Except for that bizarre "empty chair" thing at the GOP convention, I would agree with you. Eastwood's instincts are generally on the mark. One of my favorite actors ever since "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly".

I understood the metaphor, Captain Jack.......just not the sort of thing the Romney campaign was hoping to get from him. They wanted inspirational......and he tried to do comedy. Not his strong suit.......fell kind of flat. That was one time when his instincts were a little off........that was my point. Hope this isn't over your head, Captain......I tried to keep it simple for you.
