Someone else posted about this earlier this morning too. I didn't get a chance to comment on his but I'll comment here.
I found this story to be very moving. Not just because someone is taking the time to readjust the attitude of the kids my age, but also because it reminded me of the importance of what I do every day. Yeah we hear it from our leadership how, "You are now part of the best squadron, unit, group, etc." but isn't that expected to come from them? To be reminded that yeah I gave up my family, my education, my time, my freedoms (all the way down to what I wear to work and the color I can paint my nails), my sleep, everything that kids my age not in the military take for granted-I gave it all up so they could enjoy life as they know it. I work night shift now, as many may of my friends on here may know. So I stay awake at night so they can sleep in peace. Even now, at 1101 today I am awake, why? Because I can't sleep. Although there are individuals out there that don't agree with what we do, that's ok. Because I know that I go to work, and many before me have sacrificed a lot more, just so they have the freedom to have that opinion.
So, thank you Coach, for reopening my own eyes to see why I do what I do everyday. The mundane, the dangerous, the painful, the bullsh*t-I do it for them and everyone who will come after. We have all joined for different reasons, but when it all gets hashed out I would be willing to say that somewhere each of us takes a little pride in the fact that we are helping to preserve the little freedoms we still have in this nation. God Bless America!

SGT (Join to see)
TSgt Melissa Postl I feel that you spoke for almost all of the currently serving and the vets. Why else would anyone join the military? I wish all of the sports coaches and owners would take a lead from this story and do the same thing. Thank you so much Melissa for expressing your feelings and for your service.
