My dad said when he was a kid and they starting rationing coffee and other things, they used Chickory as a substitute and went easy on the sugar Lt Col Charlie Brown

Just what I was thinking Alan K. I did the "chickory" substitute when I was pregnant; that lasted a week and then the troops brought me a thermos of the real stuff. They couldn't stand me off the real stuff either, LOL
