Interesting video. I worked on IUSS (Integrated Undersea Surveillance System), which took inputs from SOSUS, among others, starting in 1982. Between that and some other work, I learned a lot. It's still interesting to see stuff like this.

I went on to do some work on the Mk116 ASWCS on the Spruance-class ships, where I did a lot of work with the -53B and -53C hull-mounted sonars and the -19 tails. That's where I really learned a lot about the intricacies of the various zones, bounce and layers, and all sorts of fun stuff. Pretty interesting for an Army guy.

My Relationship to Blind Mans Bluff and SOSUS Red goes back to 1977 and it would reverberate thru my Career thru 1995.
