Thanks for reminding us of the bitter day in Czechoslovakia in 1948 TSgt Joe C.. In 1945 the Soviets took over Czechoslovakia because it was in eastern Europe.
It was a very sad day when the Communists exerted their authority [backed by the Soviet military forces] as they "allowed" communist-dominated government to be organized.

As I recall, Joe, and I could be dead-wrong, President Gerald Ford, (when we were stationed in West Germany during the Cold War [1975-1977], advised, I guess the world, that there was no communism in Czechoslovakia.
I felt kind of like: what the heck...
