How great would that have been to get a return flight from BF Nowhere back to the States! In 3 hours!

I think for the Soviets they where just looking for a publicity stunt us we really where trying to push the concept but it just didn't live up to expectations.

PFC (Join to see) - It sure looked like it. If you believe Wikipedia (LOL) it did fly 55 commercial flights. And did fly before the Concorde. Not sure that means that they didn't steal the design however! That's what I get for going with what I thought was a memory! LMAO

Actually flew in one, NY to London on military's dime in 1986. Hard to comprehend now given what air travel has become but luxury was taken to extremes I'd never seen before, or since. Thankfully the General decided at the very last minute he really wanted someone from HQUSCENTCOM at the conference in London.

Have to remember, I flew the FB-111 so had experienced supersonic flight many times. I was more caught up with the level of service they provided. It was entertaining watching reaction of other passengers when we went supersonic, and subsonic at end of flight, however.
