Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on June 28, 1862 a Confederate band makes a daring capture of a commercial vessel on Chesapeake Bay. Former Union naval officer turned confederate George Hollins and his band of pirates boarded the St. Nicholas as paying passengers on June 28. Using the name Madame La Force, Richard Thomas Zarvona disguised himself as a flirtatious Frenchwoman. Once they had control of the St. Nicholas they captured two other vessels.
I expect the Confederacy especially appreciated the capture of the ship loaded with Brazilian coffee.
