Congress approves plans to build a Global War on Terror memorial

Last night before leaving for the August break, Congress sent legislation to the President beginning the process for building a GWOT memorial in Washington, DC. Huge congrats to Andrew Brennan and the GWOT Memorial Foundation! Lots of work ahead but this legislative accomplishment in such short order was exceptional.

So what if it takes decades and many warfighters will have died before seeing a tribute to their service. The WWII Memorial wasn't dedicated until May 2004, think a few of those vets had passed by then. Plan now and get it built!

I was very pleased to hear this news. I have close friends who were lost to this war that deserve a memorial dedicated to the sacrifice they made. All Troops deserve to be remembered for all that was sacrificed. I commend Congress for this piece of legislation, its nice to see something getting done that is beneficial.
