I'm gonna sit back and wait for the required "It's Obama's or Bush's fault" comments to come. This is BS. Funny how they can cut into our bennies, but they ensured that they got paid when the government was shut down. Represent the people my ass. There are 600+ of these who are sharing a coke right now.

CPT Mark Gonzalez - Sir please go see your reup NCO....you're making mistakes like making sense again and you know that is not allowed. The penalty is an additional promotion to Major and you'll be in the 3 shop for three years.

SSG Warren Swan - No sergeant my resignation is approved. However, I won't say that too loud as we know how the military works.

I never recall my BAH covering rent and utilities. The last thing we want is your families living in sub-standard homes because they think it's part of the financial solution to housing.

After I got married, my BAH was enough to support me and my ex in a one bedroom, and take care of utilities stateside. I don't know where they got the notion that overseas you get "exactly" whatever. I got my allowance and inside when I did my lease, the owner had to foot the water and yard maintenance. It's how you negotiate it. You might not take it in your pockets, but the more you can add to your lease, the more you will have NOT leaving your pockets. But that was England for you, and it was accepted practice.
