The Air Force has been doing this for years. If there is "bird on a stick" it is still in the inventory and thus can be picked like an abandoned car. Additionally, we have sent teams to the boneyard in AZ to pull parts from aircraft there as well. Especially the B-52 as old as it is. Pretty soon we will have to hold a bake sale to make a dang sortie...pathetic.

I just commented LCol Shuttleworth...
Are things going to start looking better with the new President and Gen Mattis as far as needed supplies, parts for equipment?

SSgt Boyd Herrst - Somewhat but they can't turn a carrier at full speed in less than a mile or so...positive moves inthe right direction though.

I have read about picking what is needed off A/Cs at the boneyard..
There are so many more when Obama found some that should of already been there.. They were hiding on the Canadian side at Labrador back in the backside of base... They were trying figure how Obama’s spy got told.. one piece of scuttlebutt had it , a mechanic needed a part fast and they didn’t have in supply.. acanadian work’g with him directed the Airman back to the back hangars where the hidden 52s were.. and later he inadvertently told Obama’s spyguy(a gs13 where the 52s were)... it seems some had already had parts borrowed from them...

Bloody Hell, I suspect the parts that are scavenging are Non-Critical but still it is pretty damn disgusting.
