SGT Efaw (Mick) G., it is a case study of the failure of leadership from the POTUS on down, and Congress' use of the war to score political points at the expense of American foreign policy - it says nothing about the justness of the cause.
Iraq is yet another example of the Democrats playing politics with our national security and turning a stabilized and peaceful Iraq into the meat grinder it is today - and which is spreading to the rest of the world now as well.
The problem comes from electing liberal/progressives to positions of control, and having their political aspirations supersede any considerations of our national security.

Thankfully republican Senator Charles Goodell and democrat Senators Jacob Javits, Frank Church, and Mark Hatfield were unsuccessful in getting enough votes to pass legislation to set a date certain for withdrawing troops fro Vietnam SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
Fools, demagogues and the weak-willed politicians push for date certain for troop withdrawal while statesmen and women push for objectives and goals to be met before forcing an opponent to sue for peace.
