Congressman Vern Buchanan discusses with Bill Hodges on Veterans Corner Radio podcast the ever-increasing problem of training accidents claiming military lives. Congressman Buchanan’s amendment requires the Department of Defense to examine emergency response capabilities and services available at all U.S. bases around the world. They will be required to address the potential benefits and practicality to have properly functioning medical helicopters and fully stocked military ambulances.

We have always lost people in training every year- it was chalked up to train as you fight. You don't always have a medi-evac on 10 min hold in the area. Your FLA ands aid stations might be 15km away. When kids run across fire lanes on a LFX, they are pretty much dead. Don't pay attention around tracks/vehicles in a bivouac and you are in serios trouble. Its dangerous- 82nd use to lose 10-15 folks every year, bad chutes, LFX problems, winds, etc. You can't wrap them in cotton and make everything a slow walk thru and expect to stay alive in combat.
