Conservative GOP Rep. Slams Trump Immigration Record: 'Should've Stopped This Years Ago'

Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, on Tuesday slammed former President Donald Trump for not showing up to any of the Republican debates so far.

During an interview with CNN's Kaitlin Collins, the conservative Texas lawmaker suggested that the former president doesn't want to debate his record on immigration.

"President Trump also failed to actually fully secure the border," Roy said. "If he had actually worked with conservatives to get bills passed in 2018 and 2019, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in right now."
