Considering Ethics Now Before Radically New Brain Technologies Get Away From Us

Scientist are investigating how the brain works and how to control it with technology.
Let's think about this for a minuet. The good, the bad, and the ugly if you will. Using this technology to treat epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and depression and other brain based malfunctions no problems, sounds like a great idea. But, this also add the ability to control more of the thought processes as well.
This sounds like a late night science fiction fright movie from where I am sitting. In Utopia, where we all get along and trust is not an issue, let's do it, but we don't live in Utopia and everyday we read news reports where trust has been violated.
Not sure I want my brain wired to receive wireless signals, though it would justify my getting the tin foil hat I have been accused of wearing.

I think that train left the station long ago. The Progressive Movement has been practiced brain control for more than 100 years now.

While I could spend days making snarky comments, I will just say Ethics is a word many no longer understand in this world. The benefits of correcting mental issues are great but the ability to abuse this is also great.
