Song of the day and the joke of the day; all rolled up into one:
A Southern Country Church was looking for a new Preacher, as the last long time Preacher suffered a heart attack and died unexpectedly. The Church Leaders posted an ad in the Big City Newspaper looking for a replacement and awaited a response. After a few days, a Preacher who was a dead ringer for Conway Twitty showed up at their Church and applied for the job. The Church leaders were so impressed with the Preacher they hired him on the spot. On the very next Sunday, the new Preacher held his first Sunday service and noted that there was a lack of attendance, since the former Preacher had been a well respected fellow. He decided to walk about the parish and meet the citizens in person and invite them back to the Church the next Sunday. He came up to the first house on an old country lane, and knocked on the front door. After a few seconds, a man opened the door, took one look at the Preacher and shouted "Hey Mabel, come out here quick. Conway Twitty in a Preachers suit is at the front door"! The new Preacher explained that he was not Conway Twittyt, and invited the homeowners to attend the Church Serrvice next Sunday. After they said they would attend, the Preacher left the house, anxious to finish up on this long lane and get back to the Church to prepare his next sermon. Every house on the lane he visited it was the same story; "Its Conway Twitty in a Preacher's suit". After 15 or so houses and tiring of his venture, the Preacher came to the last house on the lane. He knocked on the front door, and from way back in the house he heard "just a minute, I'll be right there". After a few minutes, the front door burst open and a beautiful young woman stood there dripping wet with only a towel covering up all her good parts. The woman threw her hands up to the side of her head, dropping the towel and exclaimed "Oh my God, it's Conway Twitty in a Preacher's suit", and without missing a beat, the new Preacher smiled at the young woman and bravely said "Hello Darling"!
