The article says “The cumulative effect of the illness, quarantines and missed training opportunities is difficult to calculate... But there is agreement that the disruption will have an impact on what the military refers to as its “readiness” to fight. All of the readiness processes are so nested that anything disruptive can have cascading effects,” said Brad Carson, a former top personnel official in the Obama administration and professor of public policy at the University of Virginia. “...And readiness has proven hard to achieve in even the best of circumstances, so the possibility of what would be a massive ‘stand down’ of indeterminate length could be devastating to readiness.”
My, how handy for an enemy to seize upon America during her time of weakness. All the more reason to believe The C virus was a bio-weapon.

I find this quite interesting that the active component can close recruiting centers and not gather in large numbers but the National Guard can jump right into the fire gathering in large numbers. Here in MD, we get the pleasure of having a mass formation early next week to begin the "check in" process for what looks like a very long state active duty mission.
