It's strange to hear of Japanese POWs, isn't it? Their culture precluded them from accepting capture. To be honest, hearing of 1,000 of them corralled at one camp staggers the imagination.

There are often blurred lines between historical documentation and Historical facts. Anything which casts an entire population into a single sterotype cant help but be mistaken. As my morher use to say, the words always and never, are always and never true. Every society makes an attempt to constrain from outside View, the release of any information which cast them into a light with which they do not wish to be seen. This aspect I believe is largely the cause that even anciently speaking, histories and their documentation e within same events and among interacting groups have such a wide varience in the histories left behind.
