Ok, thoughts on the new SMA pick? Did anyone know of anyone else in the running? This is the first SMA that I actually met before they went into position. Now, we had sweeping Army changes after the last two (Chandler and Dailey) took the position. What do you think this SMA will change? I would love to hear thoughts.

SMA Grinston was my Sr Drill Sergeant 21 years ago....he was a hard ass that expected results!!! Hope he still does!?!?!?

I served with SMA Grinston, he is the total package, intelligent, fit, mentally strong, tough and caring. He understands what Soldiers and Families face and is willing to fight for what is right. He holds himself and other accountable, his tenacity and work ethic are unmatched. He will champion the Soldier and their Families, he will work with the CSMs in the field listening to them, and the issues related to all topics. He will enforce policy, he fully understands the hiarchy between Combatant Command and and the Chief if Staff of the Army’s office.
I am an old retired CSM, I smiled and was actually elated when I heard who would represent our Soldiers and Families at Army level. SMA Grinston is a special leader, he is a Non Commissioned Officer!
