My thoughts were, the more capitalism they see, the sooner Castro will fall. How many presidents have come and gone with the past strategy of pretend isolation? Not sure what the goal is now.

Agree with your point, people I know who have gone to Cuba have noted how poor the country is, tourism dollars lifts the economy. Interaction of people builds friendships.

Also important to keep Cuba from building relationships with China, Russia or even ISIS.

Ken Kraetzer - From what I understand, Cuba has already had some dealings with North Korea. Worrying about what other undesirable governments they might get involved with isn't enough of a reason to drive our foreign policy regarding Cuba.

That is a major difference between the Rs and the Ds, along with the conservatives and liberals, in general. We conservatives do not work in lock step and have differing opinions, the Dems/Libs are like Star Wars Zone Troopers, automatons following the lead of whomever says something critical about their agenda, attack in masse.

Interesting thought. Is that they're voting lockstep, or taking the time to get concensus before they go on the floor?
