Bad actors should get exposed as long as a valid warrant is issued. The vpn company did the right thing in this case. After reading the FBI affidavit, IMHO, the warrant wasn't unreasonable considering the evidence for probable cause.

Thank you for reading and analyzing the story to contribute.

How quickly does it become gray when talking about "probable cause", though? That along with false advertising, though something every industry has plenty of (ie. brown color-dyed bread posing as true wheat bread), makes things highly questionable when it comes to Infosec, no?

I went "gray" initially, then I read the affidavit. Had the evidence been circumstantial, I would have had an issue with the vpn company giving up the information. "Gray" is assumptions masked as a preponderance of evidence. Hesaid/shesaid is circumstantial. What do "they" say? It looks like she presented valid evidence to the investigators of harassment at the risk of her own incarceration for illicit drug sales.

My point is a problem for the victims and it is great that the abusers are finding it is beginning to be a problem for the abusers.

That was written poorly. Cyber crimes need more attention. The abusers need to be punished. I feel sorry for its victims.
