Pity poor Dan. He was pilloried for behavior that is SOP in today's news media culture. If only he had waited a few years he might still be employed. Now he'll have to wait for the outcome of America's Uncivil War to learn if he is to be hailed as the Father of Fake News or vilified for it.

CNN should have yanked Acosta off the beat a while ago. They thought this would help them in the ratings having a Trump hating correspondent, it has not. Now they are left with the specter of a charlatan in a suite that has become the story rather than a correspondent covering a story. They whine and complain about the people challenging them but that is what the people are supposed to do with the press.
The press exists to present information to the people through their networks/papers/magazines/internet etc. They have an obligation to be free and fair for the people. When people have had enough of a guy like Acosta it is time for CNN to pull the plug on the guy. He should not be part of the news he is supposed to be covering. That is proof positive he does now know his job or how to do it.
