He's definitely got the right balance of aggression and diplomacy there are other good ones but he is definitely a worthy pic one of the few cabinet choice POTUS got right he has also got General Mcmaster as National Security Advisor which is awesome.

Nathan he is perfect for the job. Most people dont understand leadership and they sure as hell dont understand a good warrior leader. I think the Warrior Monk is a very good description of General Mattis, however, he has the ability to do what is needed, he is very pensive and thoughtful in his decision making process. However, there are many who misunderstand some of the dark decisions that have to made by warriors hence the name Mad Dog. As most military guys know he is not a Mad Dog, no far from it. Unfortunately, the Sheep that the Sheepdog protect cant understand why the Sheepdog does what he does. When the wolf comes around they are very happy the Sheepdog is there.

LTC Jeff Shearer from what I understand, sir, he doesn't even like the moniker "Mad Dog".
