As a retired FAA inspector based in Atlanta that has flown on literally thousands of Delta flights outbound and inbound to Atlanta's Hartsfield airport from the cockpit. On at least 10 occasions there has been an escorted fallen warrior onboard. It have seen the Delta Honor Guard, I have heard all the Captains of these flights respectfully ask the passengers to honor the fallen as well as our veterans. I have seen first class passengers give up their seats to uniformed servicemen and women. I have seen entire flights erupting in applause for the uniformed servicemen onboard flights. The vast majority of the Delta Pilots are veterans. This sounds like a singular event where a flght attendant over stepped their authority.

COL David Turk - Absolutely COL Turk. However, over the past two decades the military no longer produces enough pilots to meet the demands of the flag and regional carriers. At new hire classes in the 90s the breakdown was 50% military and 50% all others. This dropped by 2000 to 1/3, 1/3, and 1/3 people out of aviation colleges. Now it is rare at the regionals to see anybody with prior military experience. The miltary that once was prepared to fight a two war engagement has dwindled to a fraction of that size.

CW5 Ranger Dave - thanks for the update. I got to tour their flight facilities in the mid '90's. I worked for them (air freight terminal) during one of my summer breaks in college (GA Tech).

We all have to expect some disrespect/protest. After all, consider the lies and/or ignorance of many of the teachers of children/youth today. May God help us to return to the respect/fear of Him. Then we'll know how to act toward one another.

Give the man a chance to provide some evidence of the truth of his statement. How about it, Major Dalbec?
