Delta to cancel order for 18 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft

How did you arrive at "bad press" as a possible reason for the order cancellation? Delta runs a business based upon costs (aircraft, fuel, employees, benefits etc) relative to revenue. The airline business is in a constant state of change and is highly competitive. They attempt to streamline their fleet (fewer variation of aircraft to limit parts, pilot and mechanic/avionics training etc). They look to get fewer, fuller flights as airfares continue to be pretty low. The 787's are very long haul aircraft that they simply may believe they no longer need in their fleet.

Well, there goes Boeing stock down the toilet...

this is not good for Boeing the have lots of folks working on these new Aircraft
