With current California laws 16 Democrats May insure a Republican win.

When the primaries finish, there will be one left standing. And after the mid-terms, it won’t be a Republican.

They need 2 so that they can get enough votes to run against each other in the final. The top 2 candidates, regardless of party run against each other in the final.

At the end of the primaries there will be two candidates. Those two will represent, regardless of party, the two biggest vote getters, again regardless of party. It could be two drmocrats, or two Republicans or two of any number of possible outcomes. If the Democrats divide the total primary votes into enough different candidates that two republicans actually end up with more individual votes than any of the other
Candidates, then the two republicans will be the only candidates on the final ballot on Election Day.

Agree, when the Democratic Party swings far left..........good news for Republicans. Same think is happening in Texas. The Democrats finally wised up and found a moderate in El Paso that could possibly win againt Cruz for the Senate but what does he do? He adopts political positions even farther to the Left than Obama. No way is he going to win in November. Cruz is already a shoo-in even though he is pretending otherwise to raise cash. Texas will never vote for single payer healthcare, open borders, or deeper cuts in National Defense.........what are the Democrats thinking? Oy.

Actually this is good news because we saw this under Reagan right after he was elected. The Democrats swung far left and lost the next two Presidential elections and the Republicans increased their hold of the Senate and House. In this case I feel this is an early sign, California is about to swing Republican moderate. The Far Left will turn off a majority in some of the remaining Democratic Party leaning districts and finally California will have a Republican Governor, followed by a Sanate and House (time will tell if it goes beyond Governor). After that, New York will be the last state with a Democratic Party stronghold and even now you can see NY tilting far left with California and so it might flip Republican as well. Throwing the Democrats out of power in almost all 50 states.
