Unfortunately I don't think John Stewart, who has in the past described himself as both a Democrat and Socialist, will influence left of center types to change their minds and not vote for Hillary and/or Bernie.

He only means to steer people from Clinton, not Sanders. Clinton is actually center-right on the whole.

If I had to vote for a Democrat, I would probably vote for the Socialist.
As it is, I still haven't decided if I'm going to vote for the Democrat who calls himself a Republican (Trump) or the Libertarian Johnson.

Johnson is the better choice, since you can at least depend on what he says. Enough votes for a third party would be great for the political system, even if some of those votes are misguided. The Libertarians are at least more consistent in their conservatism; those that truly understand libertarianism
