As a former airborne grunt and the father of a beautiful girl, I am against it.

I am not a fan of "if she wants to" or "who am I to say".

Men, stand up and take the suck and let your daughters thrive in other ways.

Sgt Randy Wilber wow that was said very well, I am all about equal opportunity and such but as far as having the military being used as a political tool I don't agree with. I have experienced this when I was in as an Aviation Rescue Swimmer in the Navy. Our program had a very difficult pipeline with rigorous schools that demanded you be in very good shape physically and mentally. We have to save people scared to death on the verge of drowning in the worst conditions. We had a few women come through our program, men and women had different physical requirements. Now there are a few women that were very impressive and out perform most of the guys that went through but then there were some that met their requirements which were lower than the men and made it through as well. This is where I have a hard time accepting it.. If you want equal opportunity then keep the requirements for both EQUAL. What is happening now is is women can do what men do while being treated special. The political correctness with being careful not to hurt someones feelings is absurd and has created a spineless military that is expected to handle the most stressful situations in the world. The military is no longer force to be reckoned with it is now a a chihuahua that barks a lot but no one is actually afraid of. insert north korea... but this is just my opinion...

I don't necessarily have problem I guess it all depends in the individual for me make that determination.
