Hawaii developer Gil Barden has purchased a vacant parcel of land in the Honolulu neighborhood of Makiki that’s surrounded by residential buildings for $2.9 million, the broker that represented the seller confirmed to Pacific Business News Wednesday.

That's a good example of why it is so expensive to live in HI, or many other places.
