I can't understand companies who think its OK to piss off half their customers every time a fleeting opportunity emerges to signal virtue.

MSgt Danny Hope - Any evidence that it is half or even a quarter of thier customers that are pissed of? Or perhaps just a few fanatics who can grasp that they have a right to sell or not sell as they choose.

Dick's is virtue signaling. Look at us, we are going to do the "right thing" even though there is zero evidence their ban will change anything. Even if a national ban (should it happen) occurred, it would not change a thing. We've banned "assault rifles" before, it had no material impact on crime or shootings.
This is what it looks like when people and companies react emotionally or with their feelings rather than with facts or any sort of logical approach. My wife and I spend a lot of money at Dick's Sporting Goods on gear/equipment etc. I have never bought any guns from them because the people in their stores don't know a thing about guns. We will not support their retail stores any longer. I will go find what I want on line from another company and probably pay less. Their brick and mortar footprint is fragile, they should be far more careful with their behavior.

I don't know what I really think about it, I grew up hunting, got my first rifle for my 13th birthday. I know that for me and I only speak for myself, I never looked at an AR as a viable hunting rifle. I prefer the heavier caliber.

Oh I just noticed that you live in Eastland, the gold digger that married my dad and knowing he had cancer. He changed his will, leaving everything to here after he married her 4 years before he died. So if I do come up there, well just make sure that I don't wander off. LoL jk SGT Jim Arnold
