For Matthew Cheek, less is more. A few comic books, a basketball, and a bible are all he needs to help pass the time. He's been camping outside several stores in Madisonville since Tuesday.
When people begin to line up for Black Friday deals, Cheek will be first in line. But, this holiday camp-out is less about the getting and more about the giving.
"If you feel like donating today, we're taking up food and money for the troops and veterans," calls out Cheek. "Everybody needs to eat. That's all we are trying to do is spread a little love and show our veterans that we care about you."
It's a simple concept with a powerful message and he's seen the benefits first-hand.

That is a great idea, now we just need to create a 'soup kitchen' for Vets that we can funnel the food into!

No until you posted it COL Mikel J. Burroughs I did not see the Veteran that camps outside store to give back. It seems like a great way to give back even while in need.

That is a great story COL Mikel J. Burroughs !! A little thought of our fellow Military members/Veterans this time of year is our true meaning of a Holiday Season of giving and thanks. Have a Happy Thanksgiving !!
