Another blast from the retro past, I actually taught myself assembly language in a box ed prog in high school for electronics using it, there was a magnetic drum memory, with an EBCDIC IBM Selectric typewriter as keyboard, there are software emulators for it and the PDP 8 I'd sent in a few mins ago, I'd seen online, enjoy....

Fascinating machine, my voc ed electronics instructor in high school initially resisted letting me look at the manual for it. I as a kid then bought one, for which my dad then got a bill for which he was really surprised, lol, I honestly hadn't known, I was 16 then. I showed the test to the instructor who was ex USMC, he threw up his hands, turned it on, gave up, said, "Go, play," and I'm proceeded to write an assembly language program for tic tac toe, lol....
