I LOVE San Francisco... it is/was a beautiful city. Unfortunately, it’s misguided policy decisions are destroying the city.
The areas being discussed are not the tenderloin or SOMA (South of Market)... they are right downtown in the middle of what used to be a tourist crossroad.

Do you recall many many years ago, I want to say mid 1980s, that homeless people were thoughtfully pitching tents in the midst of high traffic tourist areas in major cities asking for money? It seems the hope was to get the visibility necessary for problem itself to be recognized and dealt with. It was televised on major news networks and that is how I started knowing that tourist cities were ghettos.

Sgt Wayne Wood I work right outside of San Francisco. I travel there everyday on the subway and go to the city quite often. What a beautiful city it is indeed. However there are so many homeless and drug addicts scattered throughout areas of the city leaving there debris and needles everywhere. I have witnessed it myself. I also have been a victim of stepping in human feces on the side walks there. I love the city it has some magnificent restaurants, however the homeless and drug addicts are really giving the city a bad name. In addition car break-ins are so out of control the city had to create a special task force just to deal with that.
