Does Lincoln Get Too Much Credit for Freeing the Slaves—or Not Enough?

Speculative history, but no matter what international economic forces a growing American anti-slavery movement were lining up that would, in my opinion, have eventually ended slavery. Whether it would have been 5 years or 40 years is beyond my ability to guess, but I think it would have been somewhat closer to 5 than to 40.
