I think that these comparisons are a red herring, but I will say this:
Much like Mussolini, Trump is staking his future by backing the wrong ideas.
The parallels in history if you really know it are actually pretty striking. People forget just how terrible the militant left was in the 30's as well, because National Socialism won a very bitter ideological battle in Germany and Italy, while Communism won out in Russia. The conflict at the extremes left little room in the middle for more moderate views, both in those countries and the nations that would eventually forge the Allies. The weakened democracies left in the wake of the Depression and these ideological conflicts were ill-prepared to contend with militant regimes when they became not just internally aggressive, but set their sights outside their borders.
We would do well to remember the whole story before we elect either a Socialist or a Plutocrat.

Thanx Top good stuff but I am having a hard time believing that the American Voters want Trump for President but then again the 1st President I campaigned for was Senator John F. Kennedy in my senior year at BC.

Senator Robert Byrd was a former Klansman and he was elected and reelected over and over by the State of West Virginia.
Arnold Swartzenneggar and Jesse Ventura became governors of the states of California and Minnesota pretty much because they were famous.
I don't discount the possibility that the American people can elect unqualified candidates to high office. It has happened too often already.
