One more-

If a prospective boss takes you out to eat and grabs the check while asking if you could leave a tip, it's a test. To correctly tip you need to know what the tab came to, and if you do not ask, the prospective boss will know you are hesitant to ask for information even if it is something you cannot be expected to know.

They will also watch how you treat the wait staff as that will give insight to how you will treat your subordinates.

1. What's your dream job?
A. Retiring and being the worst "professional" bass fisherman on the planet. I want to make tons of you tube blooper reels "falling" in the water.

2. Tell me about a time you succeeded at work -- and a time you failed.
A. I implemented a program of pre-inspection and development that ensured a first time go in all of my areas during the Aviation Resource Management Survey, an audit type inspection simillar to ISSO certification for the military. Failure: Unfortunately, a few of my troops had to go before the commander for formal punishment. I've learned from those failures.

3. You've described yourself as X in your application. Explain why.
Leader. I've been trained in leadership, but most of all I've had over 17 years to learn through experience and form my own leadership style.

4. Why are you looking for a new job?
I'm interested in expanding my professional growth opportunities.

5. Is there anything that we should have asked you but we haven't?
You didn't ask if I thought I would fit with the company. I would like to meet a few of the staff to get to know them. Maybe we could do a walk around?

That is based on the assumption that they are trying to trip you up. I have no idea how many job applicants I interviewed. Don’t recall asking any of these type questions. Sounds like HR type questions that are normally meaningless. Hiring managers are looking for employees with the skills and personality to enhance the business.
