IMHO freedom of the press is just like freedom of speech, you may not like what said but you don't have the right to suppress it. Additionally, you can't in one breath praise the press when they support you and with the next threaten to sue them when they don't, especially when the only reason to do it is to grief someone. “Trump said in an interview that he knew he couldn’t win the suit but brought it anyway to make a point. ‘I spent a couple of bucks on legal fees, and they spent a whole lot more. I did it to make [author Tim O’Brien’s] life miserable, which I’m happy about."

This is why the media is afraid of Pres. Elect Donald Trump (PE DJT) because he is willing to take a scorched earth attack to them to include libel suits. By being on the outside for so many years, and living a life that is authentically his, PE DJT can take them on with the cheers of the populous and continue as he has to expose their corruptness and highlight their elitist hypocrisy. Unspoken but certainly part of “draining the swamp” will be finally holding the national liberal media and the left accountable.
Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press are valid rights found in the Bill of Rights. But as with all rights there are the unspoken responsibilities and limits. But in today’s political and social American and world environment the press is not free. It has been hijacked by the progressives and liberal left making it a propaganda tool. And there has been for so long no limits on the abusive bias of the liberal media and the censorship they have imposed by default. By selectively printing or broadcasting what they say is news, whole segments of our population are misinformed by not getting the whole picture.

So who decides which printing press is approved? You call the liberal media propaganda, but I have a ton of evidence that the Right Wing Propaganda Machine is filled with deliberate lies paid for by super conservative fat cats who hate the Constitution and are sure they are the only "right" interpreters of the document.

No one, not even the President Elect (in any era) has to be friends with the press. In today's environment, the press is a weapon of the left (IMHO). I think PE DJT will have enough on his plate that lawsuits probably won't happen. Then again, freedom of the press does not cover premeditated slander. If the press was doing the same to me I too would be inclined to sue.

Just a point of order: freedom of speech ONLY protects you from interference FROM THE GOVERNMENT. Not private parties. Not private websites. RP could make a rule saying that you can NOT talk about the color purple, and then legally ban you when you talk about the color purple.

True but what happens when someone writes something unfavorable about the government? There have been many untruths stated by many commentators, bloggers, vloggers and reporters in this past administration and their stories were debunked and their reputations ruined. They weren't sued. So why should this be a thing now that Trump's in office.
