At a campaign event in Beaverton, OR, Obama claimed to have visited 57 U.S. states during the campaign.

Over time, I have heard a fair number of people state that they did not know that France and Germany were countries.
Many posters (in other forum sites) do not appear to know the simplest correct usage of the English language...and lack correct basic grade school American history knowledge as well.

Makes one wonder how qualified educational systems are now. Too many "fluff" and useless courses (such as "self-esteem" classes) and not enough ones with substance.
