Interesting. Barack Obama was much more like the average American when we elected him. How did that work out? I thought that we were looking for the exceptional among us to steer the ship of state.

Also, I'm not convinced that success as a business manager equates with success at governing. They are entirely different matters. The only thing that gives me hope is the fact that Donald has had failures and learned from them, bouncing back and rising farther. Many of these greater success stories do not demonstrate that quality. Many are based on a key technological insight. Most could not replicate their success. And again, none ran for President. Donald did.

Sir, the notion that success as a business manager is an indicator of governing capability was the cornerstone of DJT's campaign. It couldn't be anything else because he has no other relevant experience.

The best we can hope for is that the candidate isn't a criminal (like Hillary Clinton) and has demonstrated the ability to learn from their mistakes (a quality that President Obama obviously lacked)

I didn't buy into it. But it was his argument. To be clear, I'm no fan of HRC and voted libertarian. I reject the notion that to reject one bad candidate I must rush to embrace the other. That mindset is what's gotten us two major party candidates who can't even win a simple majority.
