That would be good.......but they have already had a lot of time to address this issue with a permanent solution, and have come up with exactly "Nothing"........I really don't see Congress making this a priority and hammering out a solution. In 6 months time, I'm afraid it will all hit the fan.

Maj John Bell - So the Community Reinvestment Act introduced by Congress in 1977 then revised in 1995 and revised again in 2005. So would you say the revisions from 95 or 05 or both aided the recession we saw in 2007/8? Should we also consider the number of economic measures implemented by Bush administration ICW the CRA revisions? Bottomline, the economy and healthcare was more of a priority in 2009-2010 than immigration reform and from 2011-2016, all we saw from GOP in Congress was zero compromise on budget, infrastructure, immigration, and tax reforms even when Boehner introduced bipartisan bills to GOP controlled House. What's GOP's excuse now for not attempting to compromise and only pushing partisan legislation through? "Mess of our own making" is indeed a true statement.

MAJ James Woods - Both parties are guilty of the same lack of compromise. When you exclude opposition from the formulation of policy, "group think" takes control of the process and valid concerns of the opposition are overlooked. Thus crappy legislation, filled with more unintended consequences than long term benefit. I honestly believe the only quick way out of the mess is a complete clean sweep of the Senate and the House. Unfortunately that course of action has its own set of unintended consequences. We're stuck with a long slow process that involves hitting rock bottom first.

Maj John Bell - Yes both are guilty of lack of compromise but step back and focus on the last 10-12 years and assess which party has had members more open to compromise as opposed to obstructing on the whims of rhetoric from a small percentage of Americans conned by propaganda. Far more effort for bipartisan legislation and committees was visible before GOP took control of both houses of Congress. You want to start some place, start with getting rid of corrupt leaders like McConnell for obvious partisan agendas and Pelosi for obvious incompetence.

MAJ James Woods - I think the truth lies somewhere between our two views. Probably smack dab in the middle.

He is not contradicting himself. What he is doing is getting rid of an executive order. They have already stated they want to work a way to citizenship. And the only ones who have to worry about deportation are the criminals. Just because MSM did not report that people are going g insane.

I think he needs to stand in front of all of Congress and say on the record on camera to Congress and the country what legislation he wants cause all he is doing is contradicting himself each given day.
