Alfred Dreyfus ( 9 October 1859 – 12 July 1935) was a French Jewish artillery officer whose trial and conviction in 1894 on charges of treason became one of the most tense political dramas in modern French history with a wide echo in all Europe. Known today as the Dreyfus affair, the incident eventually ended with Dreyfus' complete exoneration.

It is a sad and interesting situation from the past that still reverberates in French politics today. It is sad, that even today with irrefutable proof that he was innocent, there are people that still think he is guilty.

Yup it goes for so many faiths and ethnicities and even colors in some areas of the world. "He/She is a ________ so he/she must have done something!" Is the motto of many. I have had a taste of it in all stages of my life and seen friends treated badly because they were an undesirable... it is sad when people cant just ask the person about themselves (in a nice way) instead of assuming the worst.
