LOL.
I get Grumpy cat because dude can't handle that the central premise of the first half of the article is invalid.
Not bustin' your balls, SN Parks, just pointing out the error when it comes to line of succession. Most of the time, we get along just fine on RP.

The opening paragraph contains a large error. If VP Pence were to become President, Pelosi would not become VP. A new VP would be nominated to fill the post. See the replacement of Spiro Agnew with Gerald Ford as an example in recent history.
It is only if the President AND VP were to become incapacitated that the Speaker of the House becomes President.

SN (Join to see) - Again, that is not how it works. For example, if the House Speaker kicks the bucket, the new House Speaker is not the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. The House chooses a new Speaker, and that is that.
The Line of Succession only come into play if the President is incapacitated. Pelosi would never be VP; she could only be President and then only if both Trump and Pence were incapacitated.
So what would happen is Pence becomes POTUS and chooses a new VP. No fuss, no muss.

1SG (Join to see) - OKAY, this was a thought piece based on a hypothetical scenario but seeing how we have all these armchair editors out there, I added the phrase "(pending nomination and confirmation)".

SN (Join to see) - OK, let's explore this.
Ain't no way Pence appoints Pelosi as VP.
Even if he did, she would have no real power as the VP - she wields more where she is.
She would not be able to affect the ingoing investigation cited in the article as VP. She would probably be able to get insider information on it, though.

I think that not much will come of that investigation, as numerous entities have looked into these matters and not proposed charges. But you never know. The fact that it is now a criminal investigation is interesting. They must be into something.

1SG (Join to see) - Jeez, if you were actually an editor I might just suggest removing the relatively minor point that has little to do with the piece as a whole. Then again, since you are the only person who has to go on and on until there's submission... well, I knew people like you when I was in.
