TSgt Joe C., many don't know that Joe Walsh had a life prior to the Eagles, and this song was evidence of just that! Walsh wrote Rocky Mountain Way with Rocke Grace, Kenny Passarelli, and Joe Vitale in 1973 and it was released and first sung with Barnstorm, which was the group he created after the break up of the James Gang. I well remember Joe Walsh from his days with the James Gang LTC Stephen C. which I listened to in the early 1970s.
Since the Eagles were Linda Ronstadt's backup band and I didn't like Country Rock until much later I was saddened when Joe Walsh defected :-)
