This is a wonderful lesson in "context". The linked article is an Orwellian tale of an author, Laura Ingalls Wilder, being vilified. Incredible! Simply incredible. But then I look at the juvenile petulance that dominates today's society and its discourse, and it's all too credible. I read all of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books as an adult. I was fascinated by her perspective on her life and times. She provided me with vivid insights into her experiences. And her treatment of native Americans was more even-handed than any I've ever found before or since. To pull the use of one word out of the context of her times and interpret in modern usage and thus disparage her, is despicable
