In the mean time my beautiful daughter before she was discovered and started traveling the world to model was sent on a call for a hot tub commercial and told that "they were not advertising twinkles"

I had the same issue in the Army. I am very tall and was all muscle, muscle weighs more than fat so I always had to tape. I had the same shape she has in the picture but I believed I was fat. Also if you are tall and have curves it is harder to buy clothes!

The military has yet to acknowledge that the BMI system was created in the 70's before the average person did resistance training and hasn't been updated since. I was "overweight" my entire enlistment.

I was very self conscious about my body. I couldn't even see how good of a body I had then. I wish I had that body now! It's just inhuman how you get treated if you have to get into the tape line. I wasn't even ever close on the tape except one time when I was signing into FT Stewart GA and the ass at the reception taped my waist below my belly button, hello! My hips!!!! So I was put on the fat boy program for a whole week and went from 30% body fat to 19% in less than 5 days! I knew I had gained while on leave but not that much!

The message of body positivity is an important one for men and women to hear. It can be challenging for people to navigate social expectations of beauty. It's even more complicated when there is no "standard of beauty" it means different things to different people. That's why loving who you are as you are is an important first step. But, we also cannot ignore the increase in obesity in men and women in the United States. In the 90's the military was an option for a lot of high school kids, but it is not an option for many kids today. Not because they're not smart enough, but because many of them cannot pass the physical. Personal health starts at the individual level -- we cannot let body positivity become synonymous with complacency and acceptance of habits that lead to conditions like diabetes and heart disease.
