My work station was below the fantail. Under my work space deck, was nothing but air until ya hit the water. When one of the screws was out of balance, it sure made for a bone shaking experience. Another tidbit; when an explosion ripped thru the fantail, it ripped thru the space that my shop would later occupy. Fun times!

PO1 H Gene Lawrence Thanks for this post SCPO Morris Ramsey My work space was way up forward port side just under the flight deck frame 5 and under the port Cat. Talk about noisy when they used that cat.

CWO3 Dennis M. - my berthing space was a couple of hatches away from an arresting gear take up reel. You really learned how to sleep or go sleepless. LOL
