I understand your point. Devils advocate point, how many American soldiers and American civilians died during the revolutionary war in order to ensure we have the freedoms we enjoy now? How many in one of the bigger battles gave their lives for freedom? Would I choose to lose a family member no but can it happen yes. But any freedoms lost always cost more than one life that is close to you.
